Steven Tyler Announces He’s Quitting American Idol [VIDEO]
July 12, 2012 5:04 PM Reports have been swirling that Jennifer Lopez had decided not to continue as a judge on American Idol. Then, suddenly out of left-field fellow judge Steven Tyler announced his departure from the talent show today.
Citing reasons such as wanting to focus on his work with Aerosmith, Tyler said, “I strayed from my first love which is Aerosmith, and now I’m back!” The beloved band whose songs such as “Janie’s Got a Gun”, “Walk This Way”, and “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”, have been tearing up radio since the 70’s, are set to release a new album this fall.
Though, this doesn’t mean that Lopez won’t eventually announce her departure as well. Already reports have been saying that replacement judges such as Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry are being considered.
We’ll be sad to see Tyler leave, but wish him luck with his latest venture, here are some of his best moments on the show:
