Snow White and the Huntsman — A Forgettable Tale [PHOTOS]
I recently decided to go see a movie, since it is summer and I haven’t been to the movies in ages. I realized afterwards I should have just stayed home.
I went to see “Snow White and the Huntsman,” while I had read other reviews and wasn’t surprised to find that Kristen Stewart of course failed to impress anyone, as usual, I really wanted to see Charlize Theron tear some stuff up. Now at the beginning the movie kind of grabbed me. I loved the twist on the fairy tale and how the evil stepmother came into play. Charlize Theron is one heck of an actress, plus she is just gorgeous! I definitely felt she played that role extremely well and never faltered. I would have liked to have seen more of her background story, but that’s just me.
Unfortunately, Kristen Stewart forgot that when you act you need to show some type of emotion in your face. She looked so devoid of any emotions throughout the film. I’ve never been so bored with a leading character, and I’ve seen a lot of movies. The scene where she is supposed to get the crowd all excited to fight with her was just terrible and awkward. I’ve never been her biggest fan even with the “Twilight” series she never has impressed me. The girl who played the younger Snow White was more entrancing than Kristen Stewart.
Now Chris Hemsworth was really impressive as the “Huntsman,” he filled that role rather well. I’ve read a lot of people hated his accent but it wasn’t that bad to me. He allowed so much emotion into his character that you almost felt his pain and anguish, his fighting scenes were rather impressive. You actually get to see his character evolve which is really interesting. A plus is that he is nice to look at for two hours and looks good in medieval clothing.
This film could have been an amazing film if there had been a different leading lady. There was so much magic in the film, from all the various scenes to the costume designs and make-up. I even loved the “Seven Dwarfs,” even though they are not actual little people in real life. Maybe I’m too cynical because I don’t like Kristen Stewart, or maybe I’m just truthful. You all let me know what you think!
