Meet Our Spotlight Dog of the Week…Haven! [GALLERY]

We have a special girl as our spotlight dog of the week, little Miss Haven is from LCPBR but she is a little different than the rest.
Haven’s life started with her five siblings and momma found in an abandoned home by a woman. The woman fed the momma and checked on the pups, but, one day the momma disappeared and never came back. The woman took the pups in to continue feeding them, she contacted the LCPBR about them and they drove down to Baton Rouge to pick up 3 of them. Unfortunately, two of them came down with Parvo but thankfully recovered.
When they got the pups they were between 3 to 4 weeks old but not pit bull puppies! The hard thing about being a non-pittie in a pit bull shelter is that people don’t want a dog unless it looks like a pit bull. For Haven’s two sister, Maci and Marley, they were lucky because they resembled boxers and were adopted quickly. But poor Haven doesn’t resemble a boxer or a pittie so she is just waiting for her forever family.
This sweet girl goes to the adoption events and always leaves without a forever home. People say “I’m looking for a pit bull, what is she?” Well Haven is a sweet, loving pup who wants a home to call her own!
