Comic-Con 2012 Info on “Man of Steel” “Iron Man 3″ “Godzilla” and “The Avenger’s”–The Round-Up
What started out in 1970 as a reason for comic book fans to dress up as X-Men and try to out-nerd one another, Comic-Con has become the place for Hollywood studios to premiere and talk about the huge Summer blockbusters of the future. This year has been no different, with a vast array of movie announcements that will keep us in movie theater seats till 2014. Some particularly exciting and revealing news was announced for “Godzilla”, “Man of Steel” and “Iron Man 3″.
I for one didn’t even realize there was a new “Godzilla” movie in the works. I’m not surprised as Hollywood likes to take ideas that worked fifty years ago and likes to cram them down our throats again and again. Though the film doesn’t have a release date as of yet, a teaser poster was released. Be prepared to see stereotypical Asians screaming Godzirrraa!”
“Iron Man 3″ and the Avenger’s Series
Fans of the Avengers series, and the movies that make up its character’s back-stories can rejoice as a wealth of information has been released this week. “Iron Man 3″ fans got a sneak peak of the updated armor being used in the movie, with the teaser image shown on your right. Fans of the “Thor” got the title of it’s sequel and release date; “Thor: The Dark Wolf” is slated for release on November 8, 2013. While the sequel to Captain America, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will be released on May 4, 2014. I’m sure a new installment in the “Avenger’s” series that will tie up all these stories will be out some time in 2014 as well, although as of yet there has been no announcement.
“Man of Steel”
The Superman reboot “Man of Steel” will star Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, and will be released on June 14, 2013. The first image of Cavill as Superman has been released, in this teaser poster. I for one can’t wait as I was incredibly disappointed withe way the last one turned out, as it was a confusing mess of red underwear over blue spandex. Not a winning combination.
