Beyonce To Direct Herself in New Movie, Katy Perry Dates John Mayer and The World Wonders What She’s Thinking–The Round-Up
Two of the world’s biggest pop stars, Beyonce and Katy Perry are in the news today for making baffling decisions. One is making a mistake that many starlets before her have made. The other thinks she can pretty much do whatever she wants.
Sources are saying that Beyonce is shopping around a documentary about her life to Hollywood studios. That news on its own isn’t that surprising. Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and Katy Perry have all had varying degrees of success in launching concert movies thinly disguised as concert movies to big screens. What’s baffling about Beyonce’s movie is that she plans on directing it herself.
Now I’ve heard of movies being directed by one of its stars. Clint Eastwood does it all the time. But in cases like that, there are usually other cast members that can take some of the weight off of the directors back so they can have a limited role in acting and can focus on their directing duties. It’s no surprise that Beyonce, the only woman in pop music with an ego rivaling Lady GaGa’s, thinks she can release a movie about herself, created, produced, and directed by herself.
There’s just not enough Beyonce to go around, to make something like this feasible. Surely, she’s having someone else direct the flick, and just taking credit for it? It wouldn’t be the firs time Beyonce has tried to pass the work of others off as her own.
The other diva making dizzying decisions today is Katy Perry. Perry was spotted on what appeared to be a date with singer songwriter, John Mayer. One month after her divorce has become final, Perry finds herself back in the dating world; and there’s nothing wrong with that. The only thing wrong with the situation is who she’s decided to spend her time with. John Mayer? Really? John Mayer?
Katy, why don’t you take a moment and ask some of your fellow stars, what they think of this pairing. I would think that maybe Jennifer Aniston, who famously dated the singer would tell you it was a bad idea. Or perhaps you could ask Taylor Swift who was so distraught by the end of her relationship with Mayer, she wrote a song called “Dear John”. To be fair, she writes a song about pretty much every guy she bumps into on the street. But still.
A guitar does not change its strings, Katy! If you continue down this road, your star will begin to lose its luster. People will only be able to remember a time in which your bra triumphantly sprayed whipped cream on your audience. You’ll be too busy taking Valtrex, to be much of a delight on stage. Think it through.
