It was just a few weeks ago that Sam Mendes officially announced he wouldn't return to direct 'Bond 24' (what's more, he said the mere thought of returning to direct another James Bond film made him "physically ill") but producers aren't wasting any time finding a replacement. But how do you top 'Skyfall' - the biggest Bond film of all-time and a movie that made over $1 billion? You hire 'The Dark Knight' director Christopher Nolan.
With all the Pixar sequels in the works, many fans have been left asking why we're not getting an 'Incredibles 2.' Up until this point it's been because writer/director Brad Bird has been reluctant to return to the franchise but now Bird is softening his stance giving hope that a sequel to one of the best superhero movies (seriously!) could be on the way some time soon.
Considering 'Man of Steel' is 143 minutes long, we have barely scratched the surface at what is going on in the film, despite two trailers. Today, we have a bunch of new 'Man of Steel' pics that promise a deeper look at the film than ever before including a new look at a character that is bound to have hardcore Superman fans up in arms.
'Fast Five' attempted - and quite successfully I might add - a reboot of sorts for the entire 'Fast and Furious' franchise, turning a series of movies about car racing into one exciting heist film. It was big and brash and sweaty and a complete success. So where do you go from there? 'Fast and Furious 6' attempts to answer that question by adding an -er suffix to all those adjectives above. Bigger, brasher, sweatier.
'Fast and Furious 6' is like 'Fast Five' on nitrous - director Justin Lin hits that proverbial turbo boost to go bigger, faster, stronger - and at times, that is a great thing. But when the NOS runs out, the drag race just turns into a drag.
'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' (the sequel to 2011's surprise hit 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes') has begun filming in Louisiana and we didn't have to wait long to get our first look at the new ape action. Director Matt Reeves tweeted out the first photo from the set this morning and shows us Caesar and his monkey friends have taken a big evolutionary step forward.
'Avengers 2' doesn't begin filming for another six months or so but with the first draft of the script completed, have Marvel and director Joss Whedon already started to discuss casting for the superhero sequel? We just found out last week that 'Avengers 2' would feature two new characters in Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver and today comes word that Marvel already has their eyes on the actress they want to star as Wanda Maximoff. So who is it?
When Disney bought Marvel for $4 billion in 2009, many immediately began to speculate about what this would mean for Disney (or Pixar) animated movies based on some of our favorite superheroes. Today, almost four years later, we have an official announcement from Disney on their first ever animated Marvel movie. Meet 'Big Hero 6.'
"Will Robert Downey, Jr. star in 'Iron Man 4?'" has been a very hot question over the past few weeks. Robert Downey, Jr. and his co-stars have been asked ad nauseum about the potential for another sequel and they've all had varying reactions. But here's a more realistic question: What if it doesn't matter if Robert Downey, Jr. will return for 'Iron Man 4? Marvel, it seems, is already planning for life without their biggest star.
We know what Marvel movies are part of Phase 2 of the Cinematic Universe: 'Iron Man 3,' 'Thor 2,' 'Captain America 2,' 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and 'The Avengers 2.' Beyond that, all that has been confirmed is Edgar Wright's 'Ant-Man.' But in an article on the future of 'The Avengers' we've got confirmation on what other movies Marvel is developing and it looks like Phase 3 is about to get very, very big.
Two of our favorite things on the internet are the Zach Galifianakis 'Between Two Ferns' and The Lonely Island web shorts. They are equal parts hilarious. But what if we told you that 'Between Two Ferns' and The Lonely Island teamed up for one massive video about music, spring break and gay marriage starring James Franco and Ed Norton? It's hard to describe but you're just going to have to watch for yourself because it's hilarious.
When Megan Fox was cast as April O'Neil in the upcoming 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' reboot, the reaction was...mixed. And by "mixed" we mean, mixed between people hating it and people really hating it. Today, however, we have the first look at Megan Fox in character as April on the 'Ninja Turtles' set and maybe it'll change your mind. Maybe? (Probably not.)
We barely know who the 'Star Trek Into Darkness' villain is (OK, well we pretty much know) - is it possible that at this early stage we've already got a pretty solid idea as to who the 'Star Trek 3' villain will be? Writer/producer Damon Lindelof spoke on the film's red carpet and dropped some information as to who will be facing off against in 'Star Trek 3.'
